Natural Mineral Walls
Lime Plaster
The oldest finish in the world, and still the most quietly luxurious.
Overview
Lime plaster gives a wall something paint never can: depth. The surface is mineral, slightly alive, with soft tonal movement that shifts through the day. It is also breathable, which matters enormously in coastal Mumbai and monsoon-heavy Pune, where sealed plastic paints trap moisture and blister while lime lets the wall dry outward naturally.
We slake, tint, and apply traditional lime systems as well as modern lime-based formulations, choosing between them based on the substrate, exposure, and the look you are after, from cloudy limewash to compacted marmorino.
Breathable mineral system
Vapour-open walls that manage humidity naturally, ideal for older buildings and coastal exposure.
Living, natural depth
Soft tonal clouding and a matte mineral surface that changes subtly with the light.
Monsoon-appropriate
Lime handles moisture movement that cracks and peels conventional sealed paint films.
Naturally alkaline & low-VOC
Mould-resistant, solvent-free, and safe for bedrooms, nurseries, and wellness spaces.
How it works
Our process for lime plaster projects
- 01
Substrate assessment
We test the existing wall for compatibility, damp, and salts before recommending a lime system.
- 02
Sample & tint approval
Pigmented samples applied on site; lime dries lighter, so approval happens on cured boards.
- 03
Base & finish coats
Applied in thin successive passes with proper curing time between coats, never rushed.
- 04
Curing & aftercare
Controlled curing, optional soap or wax finish, and clear guidance on living with a lime wall.
